“You Look Good” – Lady Antebellum
Whenever a band comes to the point of hiatus, you have to wonder what that means for their future. Some bands staight-up tell you their through, others will promise a comeback without coming through. Lady Antebellum is one that held strong on their promise.
The trio kicks off 2017 with three big surprises. One, a new funk driven country single that’ll lead their brand new album Heart Break and support their 2017 tour which kicks-off this spring.
The new single “You Look Good,” was written by Hillary Lindsey, Ryan Hurd and busbee. It’s nothing too far off from what you’d expect from Lady A. For me, I’ve been hit or miss with the trio’s releases since their Own The Night album. Some of them I really, really, like and others I won’t remember five years from now.
“You Look Good” could grow on me. I think it’s one of those missing sounds in country radio right now. Just a mellow-paced feel-good kind of song. I could see this song being at least a top 10 for the trio. It’s certainly a better track than most of their radio releases in recent memory.
I’ve been a bigger fan of the album cuts Lady A has delivered. I’m interested to hear what else is on their new album Heart Break which is set to be released on June 9.
I’m excited to see the trio back together and making music. Hillary Scott says, “It’s all about those personal growths everyone goes through, and it was liberating to get back in the studio with Charles and Dave to intertwine those feelings into the recording process. I feel like we’ve reemerged stronger than ever, and I can’t wait to share more music!”
The “You Look Good Tour” launches in Bakersfield, CA on May 26. Stops around New England include The Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion in Guilford, NH and Boston, MA.
