“Every Time I Hear That Song” – Blake Shelton
Blake’s released the fifth single off his If I’m Honest project. “Every Time I Hear That Song,” is one of my favorite tracks on the album and is bound to go No. 1 on the charts. The single is modern country sounding, however, to me this track harks back to an earlier Blake Shelton style. When I think of this song, I can see it sitting right along side tracks like, “She Wouldn’t Be Gone” and “I’ll Just Hold On.”
He released the video for the single a couple weeks ago and it features Shelton in an industrial warehouse with flashbacks to the night he lost his love. Chris Parton of Rolling Stone describes the video as “[Shelton] chasing a memory but finding himself trapped in a metaphorical cage, his former flame just out of reach.”
Shelton debuted the song last month during the People’s Choice Awards broadcast on CBS. Where he also made history by becoming the first country singer to take home the People’s Choice Award for Favorite Album.
